Giving Guidelines
1. Potential recipients of financial assistance can be brought to the attention of any member of the HHF committee for consideration, however the committee must be unanimous in its decision to award funding. A brief application is required.
2. Families must be full time residents in the Greater Harpswell area including the communities of Cundy’s Harbor, Orr’s Island, Bailey Island, Great Island, and West Harpswell.
3. Financial assistance is only available to families (w/ children under the age of 18); children must be legal residents in the same household requesting assistance.
4. Financial assistance will be made in the form of a gift card or credit (not cash) to be used for food, gas, heating oil & necessities. Financial assistance is provided in the range of $150-250 depending on family size.
5. Financial assistance to any individual household will be provided only once in a two year period.
6. Recipients must provide consent to receive financial assistance from the Helping Hearts Fund.
7. All Fund requests and disbursements will be treated with confidentiality by the HHF Committee. The same confidentiality is expected from fund recipients.
